Getting ready to leave home for a year!

Getting 4 people from Calgary to South East Asia for a year of travel is no small feat let me tell you. Saving money and buying plane tickets are the easy part. It's the telling my bosses that I am leaving, convincing our boys that this will be FUN, and getting our house ready to rent that was the tough bit. Never mind the details- ( our goal is to make this blog less wordy and provide more photos) we are nearly ready to go!
The one month countdown is on.

Ok, getting a bunch of shots was pretty scary too.

Saying goodbye to some family members that don't live in Calgary! Thanks Darren and Kath for a great weekend in Kimberly.

The boys are getting a little more stoked now that there is gear to buy. Can you see the excitement on Bowen's face?

  2. Good morning, Liz!

I feel like we are all going on this massive adventure with you even though our feet are grounded here. Your family and you embody so many elements of "Life". Living life. Bringing to life. Giving life to. How can we all not help but feel ALIVE when we read your blogs, travel, taste and experience vicariously through your words. I, along with many others, am brimming with a melange of emotions on your behalf as well. Thank you for including me on your journey. Energy travels far and circles back. No matter the distance or the time of day you can bet that we are all inextricably tied through our constant exchange. XO to the formidable Tompkins crew! Angela C.
